Frequently Asked Questions

Everything clients most often ask us, in one place, from getting started to Wealth Advisory.

General & Services

How do we get started?

It begins with a conversation. Email Kelly to book a meeting with Uday, Kishen or Aneesha. We'll get to know you, your business and your family before recommending anything.

What does “family business specialist” actually mean in practice?

It means we deal with the things textbooks don't cover, like siblings as shareholders, parents on the payroll, the next generation joining the business, and the conversations that come with all of it. We structure the numbers around the family, not the other way round.

Is it difficult to switch from our current accountant?

Easier than you'd expect. One email to us and we handle the rest. We contact your current accountant, arrange professional clearance and transfer your records. Most clients are fully moved over within a couple of weeks without lifting a finger.

How are your fees structured?

We don't do one-size-fits-all rates. We look at the work involved, agree a fixed annual fee before we start, and most clients spread it monthly to help with cash flow, so there are no surprises mid-year.

Will I be tied into a contract?

No. We don't do lock-ins. You only ever pay for work we've actually done, and you're free to leave at any time. Thirty years on, our clients stay because of the relationship, not a contract.

Do you only work with family businesses?

Family businesses are our specialism, but not a requirement. We act for owner-managed companies, individuals, trusts and international clients across our sector specialisms too.

What is the Wealth Advisory offering, and how do I access it?

It's our premium, private-client service covering succession, asset protection and generational planning. We normally like to get to know a client through the accountancy offering first; the relationship comes before the services. See the Wealth Advisory page for more on how to get started.

Wealth Advisory

How do I get started with Wealth Advisory?

It starts with a phone call or an email, followed by two simple things, an open conversation and an Assets & Liabilities map. We can send you a template to help build yours, and we'll guide you through the process from there.

How is Wealth Advisory different from your normal tax services?

Compliance looks after this year; Wealth Advisory looks after the next forty. It brings your business, property, pensions and family circumstances into one long-term plan, led by what you want to happen, not by filing deadlines.

Is there a minimum level of wealth to qualify?

No fixed threshold. It's less about a number and more about complexity. A business, property, or a family you want to provide for is usually enough for the service to earn its keep.

Can I access Wealth Advisory without switching my main accountant?

Yes. It's easy to switch, and we can even work alongside your existing accountant to handle the specialist areas Wealth Advisory covers.

Will you work alongside our solicitor or financial adviser?

Yes. Good planning is a team sport. We regularly coordinate with solicitors, IFAs and banks, and can introduce you to trusted specialists where you have gaps.

How private is the process?

Completely. Wealth Advisory conversations happen at partner level only, and nothing is shared, even within the wider firm, beyond the people working on your plan.
